Torba or Nose Bag from Central Asia

Torba or Nose Bag from Central AsiaThis torba or nose bag was made by a young girl called Farrah. It was purchased in Jagalan, Iran.

It is a charming example of the work of the young girls, as they learn to adapt patterns and develop the complexities of design for larger items such as carpets.

This one is set onto a cotton warp which makes it quite rigid. The edge is decorated with the same ropes described earlier.

1’ (30 cm) x 8 1/4” (21 cm).

Purchased in Jagalan Iran 2001 by Private collector.
