Fly Mask from India

Fly Mask from IndiaThis Indian fly mask is made from cotton with an open weave it could almost be describes as macramé.

The tassels are very decorative and one can imagine that such an item is essential to keep the flies off. It looks as if natural dyes have been used and it has some age to it.

These items are always a delight to find in good condition because as one can imagine they get a of use are are quickly worn and soiled.

19” (48 cm) x 1’(30 cm)

Provenance purchased from John Gallows, by private collection 2000 approx value £35
