Wooden Statuette of a Horse

Wooden Statuette of a HorseThis delightful decorated horse comes from Jaipur, India, but was purchased in Rajasthan.

This pinto horse is fairly common in India and many of the Marwari’s are colored. He has been decorated with a breast plate and a sash from the bridle to the girth area.

He is probably 20th century.

8” (20 cm ) x 6 1/4” (16 cm)

Provenance purchased by Dale Durfee in Rajasthan. On loan.
