Whippy Saddle

Whippy Saddle, Drawing by Eva Travers, 1949This is an illustration of a Whippy Saddle.

This English saddle dates from the 1939 – 1940 and would have been a very popular saddle.

The cut back wither and wide flat seat made it a very comfy fit for a wide range of horses and ponies. The seat would have been pigskin as it hard wearing.

Very high quality leather would have been used.

Provenance: Drawing by Eva Travers, 1949.
