Jockey: William Parvin
Despite a slipped saddle, ‘Billy’ Parvin, on the seven-year-old Blue Prince, owned by Lady Lindsay finished second in the Grand National. Earlier the same horse and jockey had won the Manchester Handicap ‘Chase in the 1934 National Hunt season Parvin had won two good races on Blue Prince.
The Grand International Handicap ‘Chase, (Sandown Park) and the Nottinghamshire Handicap ‘Chase. For several years Parvin has been attached to Captain J. B. Powell’s stable at Aldbourne, for whom he has ridden a large number of winners over hurdles and fences.
