A Tale of Two Racing Towns: An Exhibition

A Tale of Two Racing Towns is an exhibition that celebrates the relationship between two racing towns that happen to be twinned. Betty Emery, a local character and racehorse work rider and supporter of all racing events achieved the twinning.

The exhibition explores a patchwork of the life of the two towns from the earliest times. Amongst the stories are; Nonsuch Palace, the Chateau of Chantilly, the Oaks house and the Earl of Derby, Woodcote Park, Prince Rupert, Christopher Potter, Henry Seymour, a visit from French royals to Epsom, the racehorse Eclipse, the grand stables in Chantilly, the first trainers in Chantilly, the English character of the town, the two world wars and some famous Derby’s, Oaks and Prix de Jockey Club.
