Badge of a Mounted Huntsman

This curious item is probably Victorian.

It has fixing at its base so it must have been intended to embellish something.

It is stamped out so it can only be viewed from one side. It may well have been made to go with an artifact.

It is not a car bonnet emblem and I doubt it would have been made as a tack room item. I think that judging by the fixings it was certainly part of something larger.

Provenance: purchased by private collector from the sale of James White’s estate on 9th October 2000. approx value £10.
