This delightful piece is so very typical of the Staffordshire ware. Staffordshire pottery figurines were made from the 1800’s through to the 1900’s. This bucolic scene is part of the tradition of the picturesque in English art. This one may well be a copy as there is a lack of quality, but the spirit is there.
